Of Pure Joy

Forty miles outside of Chicago preliminary recording is taking place within the home of Brooke’s co-contributor and guitarist, J. Brown. The historical home is said to have once been surrounded by ponds replicating the Great Lakes. Brown and Brooke met in early Spring of 2009.
Days before preparing to leave for the East Coast with plans of securing new musicians to partake in the recording of her next record. J. Brown, with his blues and Latin rhythm background became an effective key to the forthcoming works, a collaboration that she describes as “natural and effortless”.
Brooke’s tone is distinguishable and her delivery is billowy yet direct. Her newest endeavor brings out qualities similar to past decades. Recording with the appreciation for harmonies and tone. Several of the latest tracks have been leaked into recent shows with warm reception. “Singing is all of pure joy to me. The third oldest of a family of seven children, Brooke says there was no hesitation to play music. Taking up more than one instrument as a child, she began writing songs. “There was always a piano open or a guitar to pick up. Nothing was off limits.”
Plans to begin a tour following the release of the L.P are in the works.
